How Air Behaves

here we come
and there we go
missing our reflections
by some fortunate happening

I will not whisper
the geometry of lines
of your face
in the half light

I will not sing the praises
of invisibility
any longer,
a quiet mantra:
“I cannot be seen”

sorry I left for a minute.

were we speaking of wheel barrels and wagons?

hey you chatty!
in the corner
curled up in a ball
with a gnarled hand on your bottle
who is drinking whom?

are you saying to yourself
“who moved the world?
who moved the third book
on the top shelf
a quarter an inch to the left?”

are you saying
“who took the money away?”

flee flee flee flee
shoo! you darkness!
you infinity!

*******

how air behaves

is wind air
or made of air
and what is air made of
how can air prove itself
how can air explain that it is there
can air be sensed
does it define the space between us
does it help old metal rust

back to basics
does air make the sky blue

ruminations of a child
repetition of the unknown
does air make the sky blue
does air make color
is wind air’s brother?
