Bundle of Reflexes 57.6684 – lines lost & found

excavation of the burial mound
yielded
butterfly skeletons
and banana bones

*

every human brushes up against the limitations of 1st person

*

this is more important than pants

*

tending the garden
where my imaginary children
grow

*

the folder labeled “Phoenix”
filed away
in the back room of my mind

is crammed full
of dead strip malls
gooey asphalt
and bus-stop saints.

*

your mind has no music
you do not behold
your emptiness is full

yours truly

*

empty chairs
in conversation
on front porches

*

the blonde Asian
he sells statues of saints
on the side
on the side of the road

*

Darlings
hard to set your sights if you can’t see

*

walking lessons
for the newly blind

*

I’m eating my feelings
and they taste like fudge

*

I want close.
I want to walk a map of your cornea.

*

We know this plainly:
the heart
like all fruit
has a stone

*
From
Hamlet
to
Lear
in seven long years
